MEET THIS YEAR’S GALA HONOUREES
Dr. Armen Aprikian
Dr. Armen Aprikian, appointed the McGill University Richard Tomlinson Professor in Prostate Cancer in 2010, has been awarded the American Society of Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Award, the American Urologic Association Practis- ing Urologist Award, the Canadian Urology Association Scholarship, the McGill University William Dawson Scholar Career Award and the Quebec FRSQ Senior Clinician Scientist Award. Dr. Aprikian is actively involved in a leadership role in provincial guidelines in prostate and bladder cancer surgery outcomes.
Dr. Franck Bladou
Dr. Franck Bladou, the Chief of the Department of Urology at the Jewish General Hospital and Full Professor of surgery (Urology) and Oncology at McGill University, has been elected the Herbert Black Chair of Surgical Oncology. He is actively involved in national teaching programs and his scientific activity is centered on new prostate cancer imaging and treatment modalities (MRI, molecular imaging techniques) and quality improvement of urological cancers surgical management. He is a specialist in minimally invasive robotic surgery having adopted this technique years ago.
